Ship of Dreams (Working Title) Sebastian Quack

Sebastian Quack (* 1982 in Bonn) studied cultural science and IT at the Humboldt University of Berlin and was a recipient of a scholarship from the Berlin University of the Arts. He is a founding member of the Invisible Playground co-operative network, which operates internationally at the interface between play and urban society in both practice and theory. Since 2013 he has been the curator of Playpublik, an international festival for play-based public spaces; he teaches, lectures and advises organisations on play-based approaches to the world. He has produced projects for Urbane K√ľnste Ruhr (2014), the Metropolis Festival in Copenhagen (2013), the Aichi Triennale in Japan (2013), the Oerol Festival in Terschelling (2012), the Berliner HAU (2011), and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (2010). Together with a team of artists from Hamburg, Sebastian Quack is currently studying the emotive proximity with historical or fictional seafaring material in order to transpose the existential conflicts they address into the present and relate it to quotidian life as we experience it today. For IMAGINE THE CITY they develop an app-based work that relates the traditional passenger ship Seute Deern with its surroundings in the HafenCity.
